It is an interesting placement. Aside from the passenger's cold knees and no room for them anyway, the driver doesn't seem to get much benefit. Might as well put it in the trunk.

I still have the Mark IV type AC unit that was in my Packard 400 at the beginning of the restoration project. It was basically centered underneath the glove box area and it blew ice-cold! It however was a PITA for me being the size I am.
Today, even with the seat all the way down and back, I don't have the room I'd like to have BUT I make the best of it. At 6'1" tall (my weight left out on purpose) I think many of us today are just bigger people than those of the middle 50's. I still haven't put any AC into my car.

I agree that placement inside this Clipper is unique, but if you're a solitary type person, that set up looks like it would provide a decent measure of comfort.

How are they getting so much money ($5800 bid so far) for a car with a Chev engine and trans? What would it be worth with the right engine?
