WHOOO HOOO !!! Drove my 51 PackPatty 400 today for the first time since the test drive back on the 9th of March. After a vigorous cleaning, swapping parts fixing worn out parts, I drove out the driveway and out around the neighborhood. What a great feeling after putting in the endless hours of getting it ready for tomorrows run to Salado. See you all there !

If you're looking for some inspiration, you might enjoy looking at the photos I took today of an immaculate low mileage (less than 15,000) 1951 Patrician over on the PAC Forum.

Boy does that bring back memories. Put in gray upholstery and remove the optional back window accessories and it's what I drove thru HS--only this one is in much better shape because it's been spared several years of the New Mexico desert sun and the abuse of a teenager.

If that trunk handle has not been retouched, it also should answer some questions as to what color the lettering was painted--although some brochures did show both. Maybe it varied by model. The flocking looks much better than I remember.

All I can say Dave is "WOW" !!! Definitly an inspiration but far from reality on my dime. My direction is to build mine out as a "Custom". No body modifications other than paint and trim. Interior will also be along the lines of a 50's and 60's type interior. As for now it's a running, driving project. Heading to Salado in the morning. I'm looking for to meeting those who own one....LOL See ya'll tomorrow !

That car has just the right amount of flash AND patina...i love it! I'd trade my bathtub 50 for that anyday, and i like the bathtubs!
