It's quite possible the miss is also present when you accelerate the engine but it's just not noticeable. So I'd start by doing a compression test and if the results are satisfactory, then do a comprehensive tune up including new ignition wires. You could do several other quickie things like shorting each spark plug one at a time to see (if the problem is ignition, which is most likely) which cylinder is not firing. But I recommend rather than just jumping from one possibility to another, you take the "whole patient" approach and do a thorough tune up.

It would be worthwhile to do a vacuum test also, just to rule out the possibility of a lean misfire due to an intake system leak.
