'37 Wind Wing Installation - Con't

I have been reviewing the responses concerning the installation of the wind wing glass and the item "tape" was mentioned. I did see when I removed the old glass from the frames there was something akin to "tape" holding it in. Is this tape rubber, felt or some other composition and what might be the commercial name for this and from where might it be obtained?
Thanks as always.

Usually such glass is installed with glass setting tape. Once the glass is in place with the tape on it, the tape is oiled and expands to hold the glass.

I had to replace the passenger side wind wing window on my 37 Six. Went to a local glass shop and had a new window cut, based on the cracked one I took out. They gave me a length of tape. I wrapped the tape on the outside edges of the window and carefully pressed the new glass into the frame. Excess tape can be trimmed if too much shows. A satisfying repair.

My thanks to you all. I do need some more items from Steele Rubber, so I shall check with them. Again, thanks.
