Yes, Its been done to a few cars. There is a '51 Convertible that had a '55 Clipper front clip fitted and taillights grafted onto the rear fenders. Actually, except for the '51-'54 non-wrap-around windshield, it looked like a '55 Clipper convertible. It was for sale out of a Salt Lake City, Utah collection 15-20 years ago.

Wonder what the difficulty might be in fitting the radiator cradle. If the upper splasher is anything to go by the radiator appears to be farther forward in 51-4 as compared to 55-6.
