Good morning all. I just bought a really nice 1955 400 and I understand why you like them. Great car, fantastic restoration. About the only question I have is about the rear fan switch on the dashboard. Was this for a rear defroster, rear heater or something else ? Please advise & thanks.

It controls the fan speed for the under seat heater. Mounted under the passenger side of the front seat, it provided warm air for the rear seat occupants.

In case you have not already found it there is a 55 Packard owners manual available for download in the literature section. It might help answer other questions that come up.https://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/downloads/55_PAT_OM.pdf The literature section also has a considerable amount of factory sales and service literature available for download.

If you wanted a printed copy of the owners manual for your glove box a reproduction is for sale at the PAC online store.https://www.packardclub.org/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=144
