The Parts book spells out the "Bulk Stock No. on Cable' and the length of the various cables, but does not spell out a specific gauge.
Various places I have seen 1/0 for 6volt systems.
Is there actual documentation that I have not found?

I don't know for your car specifically, but it's hard to imagine that 0 gauge would be too thin even for 6 volt.

Even at 300 amps a 2ft length would have a voltage drop of only like .1V

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

I've got a 00 gauge cable on my '29 - seems to work pretty well.

I would also go big on the wire from the generator to your ammeter.

I use a #10AWG which is good for 30 amps.

Most generators, when working properly, 'should' put out 20 amps but why take a chance and melt a wire or short out a circuit or worse?
