Hi Guscha,

I am in your home country for a week or two, currently in Einbeck checking out the beer....being an Irishman I naturally gravitate towards it, it seems!

Are there any good car collections on public display, either in Germany, or in France? (on my way home to the ferry in Cherburg)

Looks like Einbeck is up near Wolfsburg. You could visit the Autostadt from VW. Daimler has an impressive museum, but stuttgart is perhaps a little bit out of the way for you. Enjoy the trip and the bier.
