Packard Proving Grounds Open House.

Just thought I would give everyone a heads up on the open house at the Packard Proving Grounds on 18 October 2009. Times are from 1-5 and the public is welcome with no admission charge. The last open house drew about a thousand people and was a good time. Motor City Packards will be providing Packards for display. Note the date is one week after the high holy days of Hershey so as not to conflict.

Did anyone from here attend? If so, did you take any photos? Please share so the rest of us can drool over our keyboards.

Not being able to attend the event I instead took the 115C Convertible for a nice long drive out in our beautiful Austin fall weather. I was only cut-off in traffic twice. Grrrrrr

I'll try and post some pics tomorrow. There seemed to be zero intrest in the show on this site. About 1,000 people showed up and it was a great day.

If it wasn't 800 miles away I would have been there!

I was there with my 49 Deluxe Eight. My wife came with me this time and we enjoyed the hour or so ride to Shelby Twp. My wife did some early Christmas Shopping for me in the Gift Shop, a sweatshirt, dvd, and 2 coffee mugs. This was my second time and it was wonderful, as usual. The five cars or so owned by Richard and Linda K? (former owner of Lionel Trains) were just hard to describe. I took a few pictures that I will try to post. I parked next to a 37 twelve with a custom body by Brunn in New York owned by Mr. Golling. Drop dead gorgeous! In the non-Packard area, there were three 39- 40 cars parked together, a Cadillac,a Lincoln and a La Salle.

Pictures from the Packard Proving Grounds open house last Sunday, From the camera of Packards1

The 1930 Phaeton belongs to Don Sommer

The 1956 400 belongs to Packards1

The 1934 Victoria, 1940 Derham convertible sedan and Darrin belong to Richard Kughn

I think the 1940 six convertible is Russ Murphy's

The 1953 conv. belongs to Craig Handley. The yellow conv. is a 1942 and I am sure it is not a six.
