All,

What type of bolt or fastener was used to connect these two points. Whatever I took off the unit years ago is on vacation now and I can't find it. was it a simple nut and bolt setup or something more elaborate?

Thanks as always.

In your parts look for app. 1/4"dia. pin about 3/4" long with flat head on one end and hole for carter pin on other. This is what is on my '56.

Rowdy, mine is almost the same as your but uses a cotter pin. Just having fun, don't take it the wrong way!

I cannot go look at my 55 Pat because I rehung the pedal for a modern dual MC.

However, the 55 pedal is different in size and hung differently than a 56. Therefore, it would be nice to hear from someone with a stock55 with BTV chime in here.

Having said that, a 1/4 plain bolt and nut would probably work fine if one used blue Locktite on the nut.

Craig

P.S. I prefer the cotter pin over the carter pin, especially if the latter is a democrat.

I prefer a hairpin cotter pin to a regular cotter pin. It is reusaable.

The only REAL question is: will it fit into the hole? That's always the Q, isn't it?

Oh, then one has to add locktite.

Craig, 55/56 use the same connection for the pedal. infact i think the pedal is the same 55 & older on the btv cars with only the 56 pedal different.
