Well sometimes my garage isn't all about working on the Packard, and I find myself needing a various non-car related side project. A couple of months ago it was the R2-BQ, my R2-D2 inspired BBQ Smoker. Which is turning out good 'Cue constantly.

The past month it has been a rework on a free arcade cabinet that someone was giving away for free on Craigslist. It was basically a gutted game from the mid's 90s. Everything was missing from it, and the wood was pretty damaged.

So some new wood, a handful of arcade parts, an old TV, a used computer, and some paint and trim, and the Kids and I have basically a full arcade in house. It has the capacity to play over 6,000 different arcade games. Fun project.

Now I don't feel so bad about working on brand X projects lately. Really neat job, Kev! Hours of fun for you and the kids.

Keith, I've never seen such a tool. In Germany one has to call the volunteer fire department to do this work with a turntable ladder. Be so kind to show some more pictures.

Electric chain saw at end of boom. I don;t have any more pics. Not sure what else there is to show. It's just a junk ranch buggy made from a 1988 Ford ranger pic-up with an engine hoist mounted in the back and several lengths of steel pipe with an electric pole saw at the end of the rigging. Works pretty good for a redneck eng'ring. But it's slow and requires some precision positioning of the truck. More verticle heavy tree trunks have to be cut in 3 different slices because the saw at the end does not articulate.

Sorry, sometimes my imagination runs riot. I thought it is a more professional device and has a kind of U-shaped mouth and tripartite saw to pressure it from below. Thanks Keith.

Can't help but wonder with no blade guard and in a country where footwear is optional -- or at least wearing any thing substantial is optional-- how long the fellow will have his toes. I think he'd be better off inviting one of the sacred cows in to graze. As I recall, an ordinary drill doesn't care for sustained running either.
