Packard OEM Oil filter paint color

I have an OEM oil filter I am putting on my 42 120. I came off a 41 110 deluxe 4 door that was factory ordered. When I started cleaning it up to paint it it looked like the main filter body was black. Is that the correct color?
I have seen so of the after market Fram ones painted orange, others I have seen are almost an army green.

Any one have an original with the original paint color still on it?

Thanks for the help
