VEHICLE HISTORY/ PROJECT STATUS: | pThe Clipper was started to be restored in 1989 Paint, 12 volt system ,brakes, chrome and few other items were completed. Only 456 miles put on the car since 1989, it has been in a garage since 1992 I believe. Some rust, but solid and all the parts are there. Car was dismantled to paint all areas-dash door frames ,trunk, engine compartment, interior door trim. Radio missing. pStarted on the Power Brakes and decided to convert to standard brakes. Changing out all wheel cylinders and brake lines. Next work on the electrical system. It was converted to 12 volts almost, the alternator was not hooked u and needs a bracket made. Next is the fuel tank and lines. Engine runs a little ruff and the transmission shifts and takes hold good in the small area I could test it in(no brakes) I hope to have it roatad worthy by 212 summer. Engine items done, cooling system done, DROVE IT OUT OF THE GARAGE TODAY!! JULY 28 212 pNow driving the CLipper daily and it is great! JUNE 213 pRims painted, beauty rings on, Packard dog dishes on, new white walls, fabbed new door panels, fabbed new seat covers, added some chrome trim around the edges, replaced fuel lines , had tank refurbished, insulated floors, installed carpet, added floor mats, trimmed out the door panels, added a mirror and now having fun! pSOLD ================================================= pAfter several years of fun rebuilding and driving the Clipper, I found a buyer who will appreciate the car and take care of it to bring it to the next level of work and paint. Thanks for all the hel in getting this auto road worthy and all the info about Packard. I have told the new owner about the site and hope he can learn as much as I have about the Packard. pWillis Birks p | ||||
