VEHICLE HISTORY/ PROJECT STATUS: | The car was located in Seattle, at a Body/Paint Repair shop. The owner would have his guys work on thecar during their downtime, So, they took it apart, and then it sat, put all the parts inside the car and covered it up.. They did a little spot repairs and patch welding. We purchased it and started the restoration. This was prior to the WEB, so we went to a lot of swa meets and junk yards. At one yard, my wife found a set of door handles in a old wooden box, the owner told her "no-one" as ever found what they needed in the old boxes, and if she found anything she could have them for $5. each. What a find, a set plus the key, great chrome. We located a parts car, and purchased a couple of rear fenders, and misc parts, and a radio from a guy wanting to junk out a old (1941 Packard)car, which he had no love for. We have owned the car for years now, and just doing a little maintence, changing timing gears and chain, and water pump, and a couple of exhaust valves. As with any old car, there are always opportunities to work on it, seems like they are always 95-99% restored, and in progress. Its a fun car to drive, and enjoy on sunny days. | ||||
