VEHICLE HISTORY/ PROJECT STATUS: | Turns out that this Patrician and my '51 2 Deluxe were sold out of the same dealership. Mark discovered and bought this Patrician with in a week of my finding my 2 Deluxe back in the Autumn of 21. This Patrician was licensed continually from 1951 until 1983 and stayed in the Medford/Roseburg area the whole time. After 1983 it evidently set until the registration was renewed in 1991 until 1993 when it was parked once again for unknown reasons. Mark removed the front cli to better get at the engine and has gotten all the valves working and power-coated the underhood heater/fresh-air pieces. After cleaning the exterior of the block, I plan to continue to pick u where Mark left off and dro the oil pan for a good cleaning and inspection. Mark removed the head and cleaned the upper engine so assuming that nothing terminal is found in the Pan, I'll button everything back u and see if she'll run. This should be helped as Mark had the distributor gone through. Next will be the transmission pan to get the big question mark - will the transmission work as designed? I'm quite hopeful as my '55 Patrician set for nearly 3 years and the Twin-Ultramatic performed OK - better after it has been driven until now it works quite well. If a T-U can sit for 3 years and still work, I'm sure that this Ultramatic will as well. Unless of course, the transmission is why the car was parked in 1993. However, besides the one in the car, I have two loose '51 Ultramatics and if I can't (with the hel of this group) turn 3 dubious Ultramatics into 1 working Ultramatic, it's time to turn in my tools. The only modification I'm considering is that I have a Power Steering system from a '53 3 and I'm toying with the idea of installing it in this Patrician. With the front end off the car, there will never be a better and/or easier time. | ||||
