PAINT NAME:

INTERIOR DESCRIPTION:
Green leather in rumble seat area and on green leatherette on golf door, Kick panels in driver compartment also green leatherette and green linoleum
EXTERIOR DESCRIPTION:
original exterior was Black. Reveals, lower body moulding, and wheels Stanley Green. Straw pinstripe standard position and size on wheels(two doubles) one straw pinstripe in the center of the lower moulding. I checked the paint schemes in the factory salesman book which was issued in late 1927 for the new 526 series but couldnt find such a combination. When I removed the back rumble seat back spring, there was XB-308 chalked in on the deck lid. I then went to the 1929 salesman's book and there it was !!! (yes!!) Evidently they added this combo on enclosed cars as an option for the 6th series but it was added on the 5th series sometime in the 1928 model year. this is a mid to late 5th series as in the begining of the 5th series, the choke knobs were on the upper part of the dash. late models like mine had the choke knobs below the instruments In addition there is a numbered chalk mark on the wood framing on the back of the seat back in the driver compartment. It is quite faded and the numerals can't be made out..I think a black light will reveal the number and in all probability it is the body number for this coupe.as the brass tag on the floor right behind the golf club door is missing. Over the years, I have located about 14 still in existence in various states. As near as I can determine, about 1,400 coupes were produced or about 4.5 % of 6 cyc production. The 526 2/4 Coupe was the first production model for this body style. the 443 8 cyc didnt introduce that body style till Jan 1928. Prior to the 5th series 6, and the 443 8 any rumble seat coupes were custom bodied like Holbrook etc
