VEHICLE HISTORY/ PROJECT STATUS: | Delivered by the Oregon Tractor Company in La Grande, OR on May 28, 1954. Later, it had owner(s) in San Jose, CA the car had black plates when it came to Sweden in 1991. Since then it had two owners in Sweden who did not drive it much, but stored it safely. Regular bi-annual vehicle inspections without drama, but the service history is likely as short as the distance driven. It has 3 year old whitewall tires with minimal wear. A real original survivor, but it will need some attention to details before it becomes a reliable companion for long distance trips. Certainly a doable project. Have driven just around 1 miles since i bought it in July and it already is a pleasant ride, with lots of potential to get it back to the real Packard refinement. There will be surprises (as usual) but I am looking forward to set my teeth into it. Puts a smile on my face every time i see it and those sore thumb tail lights are priceless.
Vehicle Modifications
MODIFICATIONS: | I am not sure whether it still has the original motor. The engine serial number in the owners service policy card of May 28, 1954 is M-310148, which makes sense. Yet, the boss for the engine serial number on the left side towards the rear end of the engine block has nothing readable on it. There are plenty of other numbers on the block and head castings, but I can't decipher them without further guidance. Grateful for help on this.
