VEHICLE HISTORY/
PROJECT STATUS:
Auto was produced by Packard Henney I believe, as an uInvalid Sedan/u with the center post removable. It only had a single drivers seat when I obtained it. I did not like the configuration thus welded in the center post and obtained front and rear seats to make a formal business sedan as the model indicated. It was also missing the jum
seats which I also added. The auto was painted a white color and was used as an ambulance of some type. Also noticed that on one door under the white paint it had a painted sign which had PILOT ROCK LUMBER COMPANY printed on it. Pilot Rock is a small town in Oregon south of Pendelton. I drove down there to ask questions but the previous owner had passed away and no one could remember the auto unfortunately. During the war Packard had to produce autos of different configuration and get permission from the government since the curtailment of steel and backing of auto mfg etc to back the war effort rather than produce autos for consumption. Thus the reason why my auto was a special modification.
