VEHICLE HISTORY/
PROJECT STATUS:
pfont face sizeMy father passed away in April, 215 just two months shy of his 9th birthday. He owned the 1955 Clipper Deluxe for over 3 years and worked on it until he was about 86 years old. He rebuilt the engine several years ago and I helped him with the work and the paint when we did the entire exterior. He had someone do the interior work and I don't know if the paint or the interior matches any original numbers./font

pfont face sizeAfter he passed, his wife was going to sell the car and I just couldn't let it leave the family so I purchased it from her and have been working on it for a few years. The brake system has been completely overhauled and I had a transmission rebuilt from Troy E. Taylor in Indiana. I have been working the engine electrical and rebuilding the heater box and heater control valve. It is now in good driving condition but I still have many things to do./font

pfont face sizeI am going to pull the steering wheel and fix all of the cracks and breaks and then repaint it. I still have to rebuild the electric antenna before I put it back on and I still have some dee
cleaning on the dash knobs and other parts of the car./font

pfont face sizeI really knew nothing of Packards before I started helping my father years ago on his Clipper. I am now restoring it out of respect for all the work my father put in to it and to honor his name. I am hoping my sons and grandsons will continue the restoration process in the future and kee
it in the family. It sounds a little strange but whenever I take the car out for a drive, I can feel my father's presence and it renews my efforts to complete his project. The car will always be known as, "Papa's Packard." I will add a picture of the Packard in the near future and thanks to all who contribute to this site and kee
these classic vehicles on the road and in the showrooms./font
