VEHICLE HISTORY/ PROJECT STATUS: | Bought the car in late november from George Normand of Wimberley, TX who bought it from the estate of Samuel J Alfano of Houston, TX in 1983. "Sammy" was a recording artist promoter who worked for a number of record companies before opening his own business doing the same. I haven't yet been ablemto get details of who owned the car previous to "Sammy" but am trying to run down title history (not an easy thing in Texas) 12/7/22 - Here we are a month later and the following has been done * Convertible to removed and stored till its time * Front and rear fenders removed and set aside till all metal is ready for beading and painting * Interior completely removed and set aside, the original leather will serve as the pattern for the new leather * Doors and all trim work removed and set aside till all metal is ready for beading and painting/chroming * Wooden seat frames removed and set aside to have certain bits of the woodwork replaced * Steering column removed and set aside (steering wheel will have wood redone and metal chromed, control arms for spark and throttle will likewise be chromed, column will be beaded and painted) * Dash gauges removed and clock given to local watchmaker to restore, gauge casings set aside for chroming * Ignition and switch cluster removed and set aside, casing to be chromed * Engine and Tranny removed and sent to Penn-Dutch restorations in York PA for rebuild p | ||||
