VEHICLE HISTORY/ PROJECT STATUS: | p33, original miles, always garaged. pThe only thing it needs are the lower chrome trim pieces. The running boards were replaced during the 196s repaint, and the chrome trim was "misplaced". pI am the fourth owner - first a Cincinnati Grandma drove it sparingly then passed it to her Grandson, who drove it to high school. After high school, he took it off the road, repainted it, and was going to kee it forlater use. pThe car was purchased from the Grandson by a local Cincinnati home builder named Dewey, and made road worthy again with new brakes etc. pI bought it three months ago from this gent. I was looking for a Packard to drive now, as my project of merging&am making road-worthymy two 1953 Clippers (off-road for many years)has been extended to Spring 29. pbfont colorUpdate in October 212/font/b, , , , I was "convinced" by my wife that one working Packard was the way to go (or I had to go), so I sold the two '53 Clippers two years ago. Ib /bhave had slow progress on "Big Daddy" - the '47 Clipper, but it has been very enjoyable to work on such a fine car. pSome surprises so far: p- the cost of recoring the radiator, defroster core, and the heater core. p- the difficulty of replacing the carpet in the car. p- the amount of wiring that is not working due to being disconnected, cut, or rewired by the previous owner p- how NICE it is to have the Overdrive working for the first time. It's a totally improved ride ! p- rust around the front seat hold-down bolts, which required some new steel added to the frame. I added retro seat belts when reinstalling the seat. pNext up: p- The radio p- aftermarket turn signals p- aftermarket rear view mirrors p- rework gas tank &am install new sending unit p- the dashboard wiring harness pMore pictures will be coming in the next couple of months, Stay tuned ! pThanks for "being here" with this website &am forum ! ! ! | ||||
