VEHICLE HISTORY/
PROJECT STATUS:
While waiting alongside the road for a rollback to tow our '53 Clipper Deluxe home (gas tank sealer flaked loose and plugged the picku
tube), a gentleman stopped by and asked if we were interested in another Packard. He wasn't real sure of the model, but thought it was a '55 with the first letter being a "P.". At that point in time I wasn't too interested since we were about 4 miles out with the '53 and at the time were on our way to a car show 12 miles away. But a couple weeks later after we got the '53 sorted out, we went and checked on the car. It was a '55 Patrician the gentleman had hauled back from Texas along with a late 3s Buick. We drove the car but the Treadlvac had big problems as we believe the brake fluid may have been more muddy water than brake fluid. We had the car roll-backed home. While the engine and transmission appeared ok, the upholstery had seen some water and the car must have sat in the edge of some water drainage as the right back side frame was full of little rocks and pebbles. The right back brake cable was stuck. The driveshaft appeared to have a little wobble to it and was subsequently pulled and put into a press to bring back within specs. After much work, the car has seen a lot of shows and events.
