VEHICLE HISTORY/
PROJECT STATUS:
Lived in the barn for most of the last 30 years; in 2019/20/21 I moved it to the shop, rebuilt the brakes, had the fuel tank cleaned and sealed, rebuilt the fuel pump, replaced the RF hub, repaired the heavily rusted trunk floor. In 2021 I found a donor '47 245 with trans out of a clipper, a running driving car that the owners converted the a 350 SBC/auto. I plan to pull the original engine and put in the '47 this year. The original probably sat for the better part of 50 years, outside. It did run in '89, poorly, smoking like mad. I expect stuck valves, bad rings, etc. Plans will be to repair the body damage, repaint the fenders and rust-through areas, repaint those, and keep the original patina. I will replace the entire interior. Currently has 'roller' wheels from a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis, which bolted right up.
Vehicle Modifications
MODIFICATIONS:
Someone cut a hole in the exhaust manifold and welded on another downpipe for a 'dual exhaust'.
