Trim code 69 is tan/brown striped broadcloth, as reported elsewhere. The first number, 8628, is unknown.
VEHICLE HISTORY/ PROJECT STATUS: | Had not been run in maybe 30 years, parked. Odometer shows 57,594 miles, think this is actual. Speedo and odometer still working. Working to put back on the road, and then a repaint. Running now, good oil pressure, clutch, gearbox, differential good, fresh fluids. All gauges working. Replaced water pump, cleaned water distribution tube, flushed block and radiator with muriatic acid to remove deposits. Delco distributor had one centrifugal weight stuck out. Replaced distributor with redesigned 1950 model Delco. Finishing gas tank and brakes for first road test.
Vehicle Modifications
MODIFICATIONS: | I am a purist, so stone stock is the goal. But I may spring for those spiffy wire wheels, sometime, but no LS swap. It does have one interesting modification, a very early (1950's) cracked block repair on distributor side. This was repaired with an aluminum plate and a multitude of tapped, brass screws and sealer. Still a good repair, no leaks at pressure. Cleaned up this adds an interesting bit of character to the engine, and was apparently running for 60 or so years? Will not change until imperative.
