VEHICLE HISTORY/
PROJECT STATUS:
I purchased the car from a young man in Beulah, MI. The car was originally his father's who owned many packards but passed away, so the son was selling all of his cars. This car was sitting in a storage steel building for many years. I first heard about the car from an ad in Hemmings, I had been looking for a Packard coupe for many years that I could afford. I called this young man 23 times and left messages when he finally answered the phone. We talked for half an hour about the car, I decided that I wanted it so I sent a deposit to hold it. A week later, I went to get it. After putting some fresh gas in, and priming the carburetor, it started, running a little rough but soon settled down and purred like a little sewing machine. I was more than happy, in fact ecstatic!! On my trailer went the car and home I drove. When at home, I pulled the motor and rebuilt it, new bearings, rings, etc. I drove the car for about 12 years just as it was, knowing that it needed everything; interior, glass, rubber, chrome. So, I finally parked it in my other garage and worked on some other old cars. I am now in the process of a complete restoration. Motor is finished, trunk finished, time to sand down and paint, then off to upholstery. Should finish maybe this year. Can't wait.
