VEHICLE HISTORY/
PROJECT STATUS:
It's my wife's fault I bought this.in 1998 I had 6 kids at home, 2 of which could drive and we only had 2 cars. My wife said, "We need a 3rd car." Well, it took 4 years, but that's the sacrifice you make. I drove the Packard and the kids drove my modern car! It started out as a parts car, rusty rocker panels, rust on the floorboards and fenders. The engine had 4 bent pushrods. After rebuilding the entire driveline, new paint job, new interior and miscellaneous stuff to the tune of $35k, (including the cheap $1k, buying price). I can't afford to sell it, no one could afford to buy an amatuer repair job. But we love it and will drive it anywhere. It goes to cruise nights year round here in Phoenix, AZ.
Vehicle Modifications
MODIFICATIONS:
Replaced transmission with Chrysler 727, was expensive, could have shipped the car across country to get the transmission rebuilt with a Packard Twin Ultramatic.

Replaced fuel pump with one that fits a Chrysler 318 V8. Bolts right in and only cost $16.50 with a lifetime warranty.

Electric windshield wiper motor.
