INTERIOR CODE: | 49 | PAINT CODE: | G | PAINT NAME: | Argentine Gray Metallic |
INTERIOR DESCRIPTION: | Interior is complete, but worn and some is not matching. I cannot tell which is stock and which are replacements. Trim code says I should have grey cloth seats, but I have vinyl (possible accessory) covers over tan or possibly grey striped cloth. The stripes are dark brown with a lighter brown next to it. Front door panels have green vinyl bottoms and back doors have dark bluish/grey vinyl bottoms. Rear seat is in excellent condition and front seat has the back worn through the weaving on the drivers side. Bottom of front seat is missing green cover completely exposing the cloth. Metal trim around windows is similar bluish grey color as rear door panels. | EXTERIOR DESCRIPTION: | Car was stripped and primed at some point. When purchased the primer was on very thick and cracking all over the place. Large pieces have fallen off leading to a lot of rust. Paint code has been worn off. With help from the friendly members of this site, we have decided that it should be a G for Argentine Grey Metallic. I plan on painting it the original color, or at least as close as I can get! Currently it is painted Rustoleum Hunter Green.

VEHICLE HISTORY/ PROJECT STATUS: | Ibought this car when I was 18 (1994). It was running, but poorly. I bought it from a gentleman who was selling several old cars. He parked his cars on the street and his neighbors were complaining that he was taking all of the parking spaces so he was getting rid of them. I got it home and had the generator and starter rebuilt, put in new spark plugs and wires. Car now ran well, but the carb should be rebuilt. After a quick tri around the block, I discovered the brakes were bad when the petal went to the floor and I ran over our chain link fence. Had them rebuilt a local mechanic. Transmission was not shifting so I bought a rebuilt unit from a company listed in Hemmings Motor News. Had it installed and the car was drivingwell enough. After a couple of under 5 mile trips, the transmission stopped working again. Started sanding car and covering with Rustoleum until I had time to do a proper job. Marriage and moving to a new house put the project on hold for many years. Now I'm looking to get it going again. I do not know anything about it's history other than the car has a Packards of Chicagoland sticker on the windshield.
