VEHICLE HISTORY/ PROJECT STATUS: | As far as I know the original owner had car imported into South Africa, it dodged the U-Boats and brought it to Sussex with him when he returned through ill health. After he died his widow kept it garaged but never used it although I believe she had tried to. It had various patches of not quite matching paint on all four corners when I bought it. A local cha who I think dealt from time to time in old cars had tried to buy it but had to wait until she was moving before she agreed. He decided it was not the thing for doing the shopping and advertised it for sale a few weeks later in 1964 when I bought it from him. This is all based on what I can remember of a conversation that took place 45 years ago so may not be very accurate. The old log book (registration document) had the name and address of the original owner and also the original South African registration number on it. In those days cars were registered with the local authority and when I registered it in my name they kept the document and issued a new one. Unfortunately I did not kee a note of the original details or think to ask for the old one back. During 1965 I overhauled the brake and steering, resprayed and rechromed and used it as my everyday transport until 1993 except for a couple of years when it was stored in a lock-u which had a leaking roof which caused the trunk area to rust out, did some temporary (bodged) repairs at the time but I retired in 26 and started to do some better repairs. This has involved a fair bit of what Mal has been doing on his 12 coupe. I have had the advantage that mine was all u and running when put away and had the engine turned over regularily. This is rambling on a bit now so I will call it a day now and attempt to put some pictures up, and add stuff later. My intended use is as a driver not a show car after all that is what they were built for but it may be a while yet before we are back on the road.

MODIFICATIONS: | All pretty well original except I made up my own wiring loom matching as close as I could to the original and then made a second one to accommodate the driving lights, fog lights, reversing lights and direction indicators and added 6v relays for the headlights, fog and driving lights &ndash may use halogen bulbs.
