VEHICLE HISTORY/
PROJECT STATUS:
In 1967, I was 16 years old and had saved $5 to purchase my first car. I looked evry night in the daily paper for a '55 - '57 Chevy with Hot Rod in my blood. My Dad had always talked about the old days ans was in love with Packards. That night in the paper was a 1937 115C Packard. When I told my dad he insisted we take a look at it. The seller was a dentist who had purchased the car 6 months earlier from the original owner. He was moving his practice to Colorado and did not have room for it. I bought it that night for $45. and drove it to high school every day. I had to sign an affidavit stating I would leave it original and would not make a hot rod out of it. After High School I parked it in a garage. That was somewhere around 197. I could never get rid of it. It moved with me from Northern California about 32 years ago. Kids and home came first. I always wanted to restore it but kept looking at the numbers and found they just didn't seem to pencil out. The cost to restore it would be less than what it would probably bring. Thus it continued to sit.

A few years ago, Dad passed away and left me a little money. I decided to set a little aside and as a tribute to dad.., restore it. Fortunately I work for a company involved in Trucking and have 3 great mechanics and a 4 bay shop. The owner of the company who I have worked for almost 35 years wanted to hel
and offered the sho
and mechanics in spare time to work on her. She is currently in Honolulu and is coming along very nicely. The car was in great shape to begin with only 91, miles and 1% complete. It is under going an almost frame u
restoration. Engine is at machine sho
and has everything new as it was bored, crank turned, valves and I went a little bit further and had them balance the engine as well. Replaced cam and bearings, oil pum
and water pump. Stainless steel exhaust, new wiring harness from Rhode Island. Engine parts from Kanter Bros. Front suspension has been completely rebuilt as well as all brake system. Hydraulic shocks rebuilt as well. Engine still in assembly process and paint, glass and interior s next. Chrome is partially done and will continue. All chrome being done in Seattle by Art Brass Plating. I am excited as a kid to see it come together and know my dad would be proud.
