New 54 steering wheel / J-2557 wheel puller

I was looking to replace my 54 Pacific steering wheel with a custom purple transparent wheel from Quality Restorationshttps://qualityrestorations.com/ . With the lack of a J-2557 wheel puller on hand, Harbor Freight and Studebakerparts.com do have wheel pullers. Will any of these suffice? What would be the exact procedure to replace my wheel? QR deals in wheel exchange and I am reluctant to actually give up my current wheel. Is there availability of any senior 54 Packard steering wheels out there for sale I can use for an exchange? Thoughts and advice are welcome.

He did mention the holes for the Bijur Lubrication system were plugged with gunk.
When I restored the car I did pull all he lines and metering pins and cleaned them out. However I did not drop the springs which I should have at that time and did a more better job of cleaning the holes etc. Thanks goodness I am having him tackle this project. He had to make a special tool to get the front bolts of the rear springs out. He said with the running board and side skirt in the way he could get his air/hammer chisel in there to knock the out with out having to pull the running boars and side skirt. He is pipe fitter by trade and very smart and creative in making tools etc... I will need to call Max Merritt to see if they have the bolts in stock.

I redid my 53 Cavalier seats over the winter and I just put my front seat in tonight. I tried to mimic as much as possible exactly what Packard did, that is, I didn't add extra foam or cotton, and when I hopped in tonight I sat noticeably higher than the old seat. All that to say, part of the reason you're sitting low may be that your seat is a bit tired. For clarity, I am referring to your car's seat, not your seat. LOL
*Ignore the colour and fabric on this seat, it's just a practice seat cover.

Sticky speedometer needle

Seems the speedometer needle in my ’54 has decided to be especially fond of 50 mph. It will stick at that value until I come to a complete stop, so the near term plan is to add a bit of lube to the needle’s support bearing/bushing. A search of the web on this subject revealed that a lot of people recommend 3 in 1, or mineral (baby) oil. I’ve got those covered as well as typical multi-viscosity engine oils, gear oils, high sulfur cutting oil, ATF, jack oil, tap magic, and a limited supply of Panther pee.
I’ve found quite a bit of service information about lubricating the cable, but not so much for the speedometer head. The lubrication section of the ’54 shop manual recommends 2-3 drops of 10W engine oil at 10K miles or 1 year interval at the cable flange. I suspect this is for the bushing at the cable interface, not the needle. Is there a consensus on which lubricant should be used for the speedometer needle support bearings/bushings? dp

Looks like they went for a time without any lubrication at some point in the distant past. I believe there were fiber seals/washer that kept the lubricant in.

Just in from my friend working on the Packard leaf springs
I would say the spring and shackle bolts have seen better days. A little worn after 93 years. He mention after putting the new springs in (temporarily bolted up) the Packard had raise up at least an inch or two. 😁 On top of that he said left front tire has gone flat...probably going to need a new tube.
