Re: 1937 120 Conv. Sedan - Blanche

I ran a second ground for the sending unit, and no luck. So I went back to the beginning and wanted to confirm power flow.

1. I started at the sending unit, and did not get a hot read. So went to the source.
2. I have a hot read going into the gauge from the wire connecting the ignition switch to the gas gauge.
3. But i did not get a hot read on the driver side where the wire goes to the sending unit?

I am fairly certain i got a hot read at some point when i was testing the harness, but can't be 100% certain. What I do know is that the gauge did work prior to starting the preservation effort.

Is this leading me to think that my gauge has decided to stop working similar to my solenoid? Or should I not get a hot read there?

Thoughts appreciated!

Flackmaster had the exact same model you have. He may know.

Visiting the museum is easy. The problem was there's nothing that said, including in my phone call with them, that the archives department does not have the same operating hours as the museum. So I went there on Saturday only to learn that the archive department is Mon-Fri 8a-5p.

But what they didn't tell me on Saturday was that the archivist won't even be in today (Monday). So I'm going to see if they can accommodate me and my 8 pages of research notes today somehow; if not I'll just leave as I can only take so much time off of work.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

I don’t think they are. I think this one pictures below is used for the pillars. This one is banged up and I am missing the other. They are different threads too so I don’t think it’s a replacement

Why wouldn’t you just buy tickets at the door?

Online parts book works well! I'll use it more in the future!

shaft bearing

Same part for pretty much all 26 series cars.

In this model vacuum tank there are eight equally spaced holes around the rim of the top. There is a ninth hole located in the rim of the top where the arrow in the picture is pointing. That mates up with a small post in the can, If there are more holes in the top, someone modified it. The large copper tube above the arrow is the vacuum supply tube. The small tube behind it is a vent tube. Its open end should not be near the exhaust pipe. The tube to the upper left is the fuel supply tube.

Are they not for securing your removable B-Pillars?

Re: Converting back to six volt

Another question I have is what to use for battery cables now that it’s back to six volt…I see they used a braided strap to ground..is that certain gauge…and it appears to be mounted on the frame not the engine block…and what gauge should I use for the positive ground to the starter..I’m guessing 00 but maybe that’s too big…? And is there another ground besides the strap? Thanks again
