Re: Converting back to six volt
Home away from home
Home away from home

Jimmyk
Back at my 41 110 deluxe…continuing replace all the wiring back to 6 volt and to correct schemes….I have removed the lighting switch as almost every terminal has been altered…anyway ..I can’t find any info on the wiring for my directional unit on steering wheel…then I thought maybe it’s not original or they didn’t come with one? Also my foot dimmer headlight switch is really rusty so I figured I would replace it while checking the routing on the wires…any thoughts on accessing the foot unit? It seems like it’s recessed between the fender and frame…I can see how it is removed from the floor but then it drops out from underneath I’m assuming? Thanks again for the responses….super helpful

Re: 1955 Caribbean - Removing door

My personal input on this matter was influenced by problem I found on driver's side door on Randy's door
While trying to adjust door would get it correct then it would move. The problem was two of the door lower hinge bolts were very loose threads
My cure was to get longer bolts and install nuts and lock washer on backside which is relatively easy \except for sharp edges on door hole punch
outs . My fix cured my adjustment problem just my experience. I did make another change addition added plastic to door metal with duct tape to keep water from getting to card and leather interior trim. Overkill as my old cars do not spend much time in rain..Water staining more problem with cloth trim

Everything is there. The engine did run and even had last oil changed
In 1957 before it was parked. Gas cap and all emblems are accounted for.
I can send many more picks just ask.
All the glass and accessories even original battery, hoses, belts,
Plugs, dist. Cap &wires bones and cigarette ashtray roll tops.

This is car 1035-384. It is the car that was shipped directly from the factory to Milan Italy in 1937 for the Milan Auto Show.

I suspect that is the same as for my 138CD limo. It would be for the dome light in the rear passenger compartment.

In my car, I have a front dome light connected to a switch under the dash. Then, the rear dome light is controlled by two three-way switches. The first switch is the one you have shown in the front above the divider window. The second one is in the rear on the B pillar.

If you look in my project blog, I have wiring diagrams for my car that show how the switches are wired. It would be similar for your car.
