Helped set up the All Packard indoor swap meet in Frederick Md. today. Vendor spaces are sold out with some of the biggest Packard vendors in the country there along with many local and smaller vendors with some really great buys. Meet is Friday and Saturday with the car show on Saturday. No admission charge. Weather looks to be nice so I hope to see you there.....

Just sent in my registration for the All Packard Swap meet in Frederick Md. I set up a table and sell some parts etc. I have been attending this meet since it started. It is my favorite Packard function of the year. Fun, laid back, nice Packards and most of all two days of talking Packard. And the new location is a great indoor facility with good food. I have also sold two Packards at this meet and plan on selling another this year. Hope most of you can make it.

Hi guys... The 41-42 Clippers came with the Rim Jack and the Junior Packard Jack Stand. An instruction tag was attached which stated something like..Place the Jack in the outer rim of the wheel and jack up the car, place the jack stand under the axle, remove jack and remove the wheel. Reverse procedure to replace the wheel... The rim jacks were used by GM in 39-41 with a different style jack stand. Both the Packard and the GM rim jacks proved dangerous and were not very well accepted by their owners. The 41-42 Packards {not clippers} came with a Hub Jack and a Jack Stand. Same procedure as the Rim Jack only the Jack was placed under the hub and not the rim of the wheel. Junior Packards used the same stand as the Clippers. Senior Packards used an adjustable stand. Hope all the helps....

I dropped the gas tank on my 53 Packard to clean and seal it. When I took the sending unit out I noticed the float has a small amount of liquid in it. It is solid with no leaks or holes etc, and it worked find. Was wondering if these floats were slightly weighted with a liquid when they were new..

I know the firewalls on most 53 Packards match the body color. However,on many non black Caribbeans, Convertibls and some Mayfairs I have seen have black firewalls. What is the correct color for the firewall on the three above mentioned Packards.

Thanks for all the help. To answer some of the questions, The overdrive is a R11 which came in my 53 from the factory. When using overdrive and have to back up, the car acts like it is in neutral. If I disengage the overdrive the car works fine and backs up. Again this does happen all the time. Hope this help answers some of the questions...

Was wondering what causes the car not to go into reverse when the car is in overdrive. This does not happen all the time.. If you take it out of overdrive all works fine.. I have had this problem on different Packards over the years..

I wish this question would have come up last week. Had the tube out of my 53 and when I reinstalled it the flap did hit the crankshaft.. I then broke off the flap. Will have to see if it will leak oil. If so I may be looking for another tube. Question: In which direction does the opening in the breather cap face?........
