I made new door panels and covered them. Used thin masonite and used headliner material for the covering. Can be purchased at Hancock fabrics or other material stores and on line.

I used thin velcro to do the job, it will hold on the entire panel and without using the clips at all. This has worked for 2 years on my clipper wit no problems.

The down piece extends to below the side window trim. A very rudimentary drawing attached.

Final installation. Insulation installed like Kevin used on his Clipper. So far today I am looking for flaws and touch ups that will be needed. I did not have the light switch and rear light cover installed.

Thanks, I was able to go over this with the installer(to assure myself he knew) and he did and explained, just like you did how the pieces worked. I felt much better that I knew somewhat about how the job should be done. This site has saved me a lot of dollars and a lot of time over the past three years. I really appreciate all the Packard owners on this site for their help.

Howard:

The sides around the windows have the barb that face down that looks like the headliner would attach to when stretched. The three pieces for each window have barbs that face up which to me would be for the windlace. I have some photos that may explain.
The piece that looks like it goes down the pillar of the 2 door doesn't look like it fits to me when I place it next to the pillar.

Windlace trim ?

I have three pieces of trim that goes around each of the two doors on my 1954 Clipper. I can fit two of them easily, but cannot figure out where the third piece fits. I know it should be simple, but for some reason I cannot figure it out. I have placed it on the front post and on the center post, but it doesn't look like it fits either. The painted trim is already in place , so it may be hiding where it goes. If I cannot figure it out the installed , hopefully can.
These pieces are the trim that the windlace attaches to.
HELP.

You got it Howard, after looking at all the connections and tracing the hoses, there was only one conclusion and this morning I rounded up a 1/8 pipe plug in the garage and that was the solution. I couldn't remember taking anything off the pump like that, the rebuilder must have removed it when they cleaned and and did not put it back. All well now, thanks to everyone.

Thanks, the old memory has failed me this time. Now I need to look for the nipple. I do have a heater.

Thanks again now I can get it driveable Saturday.
