This doesn't belong to me, but friends have a metal ashtray (I think) presented to a Packard salesperson in the 1930s-'40s as a salesperson of the month type thing...

I don't recall where I read/heard this...and like ALL statistics, it might be completely made up...but after 30-50 years or so, only 1% of any particular vehicles/models/makes are on the road.

I think the percentages are higher than that, personally...but as time goes on and rust, wrecks, parking them in the barn/shed/garage/back 40 takes its inevitable toll...

A general query...there WERE "all-steel" station wagon-esque vehicles being manufactured during the 30's and 40's (e.g. the GMC Suburban). Why didn't that type of body get used on passenger-car based wagons?

Nothing against woodies here...they're beautiful!

I would like to give a shout out to ALL who post/answer/discuss on this website. I visit it on a daily basis just to read the posts and discussions!

At present, I don't own a Packard (well...other than the HO-scale '53 Caribbean... ), but when I do, I'll be posting all about it here, and no doubt soliciting advice...

This post shows some photoshopped designs,
including an interesting take on a "what-might-have-been" Packard...

Or how about a 1962 Packard Hawk from the same designer?!?

Here's a link to the main site....there are several other interesting Packard What-Ifs....

VERY true! When I first posted this, most of those comments weren't added yet.

Personally, I like it.
