Oil Pump Assessment
#51
Home away from home
Home away from home

Rscott77x
I am trying to determine if I should replace my oil pump. I took some readings and made a chart.
A few notes:
The service manual (page 52) calls for 40 lbs in "normal" driving.
The owners manual calls for 30W oil.
I am running a modern multi viscosity oil--10W-30W.
Readings are slightly under but it appears I do not to replace my oil pump.
Any observations or opinions??

Ammeter Stories
#53
Home away from home

I was recently reading an article about Mopar gauges in later model cars. Mopar being Chrysler corporation of course. The article stated that all the amperage has to go through the ammeter if the car is equipped with an ammeter. So it's understandable how they can break down. Especially in a car that's 70 to 80 years old. So it might be a smart idea for all of us to send our ammeters out to have them rebuilt. A stitch in time saves nine! Avert the danger which is yet to come!

Beautiful car. I see it has the floor heater that I think worked off the heat from the exhaust pipe didn't it? Would love to know.

This is a UK company. That will prolly put a wrinkle in things. You think California is over regulated!! Try the UK.

Waiting for my oil pump is keeping me off the road. But Max Merritt Auto has me covered. It's on the way! Then maybe I can go to the Hilton Head Island cars and coffee! I live in Beaufort.
