Put the new battery in today. Everything seems ok. Alternator is working. I don't get it!

hard to tell. I would have to see it for an opinion. I have a 55 Caribbean. Almost everything rebuilt. Needs some body work but not much. Can't get the top to work properly but have all new parts and a spare rail set for the top.
Has manual windows and it seems it had air once upon a time.
I have all the parts for the air. Spent 10,000 on reupholster. I figure about $50000 if I were to sell it. It does not have the original engine. It has a rebuilt 352 from a Clipper.

I was thinking I had a short somewhere that didn't show up til I turned the starter. Starter motor or something associated with it. I bought a new battery yesterday and will put it in this weekend. Hope I don't short that one out also.

The battery on my Clipper went dead. Probably from sitting to long. I hooked up the charger and because I am impatient, I set it to engine boost. I got in the car and turned the starter. There was a huge arc and then nada. I inspected the battery and found the positive cable from the charger got welded to the battery post. I tried charging the battery on slow charge but the battery evidently got cooked. I have an alternator on the car and am thinking it may have fried also. Any thoughts?

several years ago, I called Daytona and was told they could build a set of 55s for me. As I remember they mentioned using a pair of 55 Olds carbs.

My 55 Caribbean also has snaps on the top of the rear seat for the boot.

I hate to say it, but that Request front treatment kind of reminds me of an Edsel.

could be that your idle is to low. The generator may not be putting out enough to keep your idiot light out. My Clipper has been doing this for the last 40years. I finally put in an alternator and no more problem.
