Presuming the block was hot-tanked and thoroughly flushed, was the brass coolant distribution tube removed first, inspected for damage, then reinstalled afterward?

The roll pins on the 4-way electric power seat for 1954 are very difficult to remove so if you don't need to remove the entire assembly, don't try! The cushion itself should lift off by pushing it back and up at the front and once out of the way, you should be able to access the screws holding the backrest in place.

My 1954 Patrician blog linked below should have quite a few photos of when I was removing the seat which, in this case, was the whole thing.

EDIT: I looked at the photos of the front seat on my blog and none were too detailed but farther along there was helpful text about removing the backrest.

It’s been so long since I’ve driven one at speed but isn’t there a throttle rod to the Ultramatic that might be out of adjustment?

I don't know what your budget is or how keen you are in doing it all yourself but there is a vintage car restoration shop in Terrebonne, OR that can make quick work of it. They just fixed the damaged front clip of my 1965 Imperial LeBaron and did an excellent job.

I have the inside handles but not sure if I have any cranks left. I don’t recall seeing any, or at least none with good knobs.

Tsherry, you should have saved yourself some money and at the same time had the proper 1940 110 engine by buying mine! It’s in Central Oregon not far from you and I even have the proper green paint for it!.

The 1956 Clipper Super in Sacramento appears to have Executive trim even though everything else is Clipper.

The 1953 Patrician looks very nice but appears to have non-original upholstery fabric.

As for paying Craig's List, maybe you're not aware that it is owned by eBay which charges a whole lot more!

The partially rebuilt 1940 110 engine here is $1,250 with some assembly required but I expect that a fully rebuilt one would cost several times that and possibly even more to have yours done. This one here is so cheap because it was done decades ago.

Years ago I bought a Craftsman combination wrench set designed for distributor work and it has many 32nd sizes in it both open and closed. Search for Ignition Wrench set if you need one that size or possibly it can be purchased by itself.

The swept-back wings were 1952 but I suspect that some dealers may have switched the ornament on some cars. There is one on Facebook that the owner said was that way when her father bought it new from the dealer.
