Since there is no regulator, have you changed to an alternator or 12 volt system for the car.? My regulator has been a source of many problems, trying to keep car origianal, so I may give up on it.

In last nights' movie on TCM, the couple stole a Victoria convertible just like this. The girl made a uturn so there was a good shot of the Packard. Boyfriend jumps in, you could see him shift to 2nd then 3rd as they speed off. I look for Packards in old movies.

Just received new rear springs from Eaton. Should they be painted before installation ? If so , with what paint? Thanks

Thank you whippersnapper. That '48 Packard was featured in an article by Haggerty.com. The guy also owns a '48 Cadillac I believe. My car is the same color but has the lite gray woodgrain interior finish with blue and gray stripe cloth.

I agree with all the above. I like the chrome tail fins. They are tastefully done with the Packard logo. I am partial to my "48 Deluxe Sedan. Although a 'bathtub' to some , she is really a hit at local car shows. A beautiful Agate Blue, she is liked by young and old. At a recent show. participants and visitors, voted for their favorites. the Packard came in number 4 of the Top 25. It was the only untouched or restored car there.

Don't feel so bad , it is hard to tell when these switches are on or off. I always check the head lights to be sure they are off.

Viewing the engine compartment, this car has the electromatic clutch.

I always check out these Pickings. So many old Packards. I guess a lot of owners along the way. What a history they could tell if only they could talk.
