As I get into Packards more and more I catch myself having preferences. So what's your Favorite Year and Model. And Why? Your not limmitied to one pick. And pictures would help but I'll add them for you if you can't. Have a Blessed day
Ronnie.

A very subjective subject likely to get interesting opinions but I'll bite.

I lean mostly postwar and have 3 I am rather fond of. The 47 Clipper Custom because of the styling and by 47 it had all the refinements Packard offered -- one of Packards best engines, a superb quality tasteful interior along with a body that even in the sedan just flows together nicely.

Next choice is the 54 Pacific. Again, the last and best of the S8 engines plus an interior which was both sporty and tasteful. Even though it started life as a junior car on the smaller wheelbase, by 54 for all purposes it was a top of the line senior car with a body that had been refined with just the right amount and placement of chrome.

I have to say the 56 seniors are the favorites. Happen to have a Caribbean HT at the moment but had a Patrician before that. Like everything about them styling wise and by 56, while still not perfect mechanically, they had been refined into very dependable good looking cars.

Here is a photo of my first full restoration -- a 54 Pacific taken last year which is a good 30 years after I sold it, Current owner has added a couple of accessories and it still looks decent inside and out.

I agree with all the above. I like the chrome tail fins. They are tastefully done with the Packard logo. I am partial to my "48 Deluxe Sedan. Although a 'bathtub' to some , she is really a hit at local car shows. A beautiful Agate Blue, she is liked by young and old. At a recent show. participants and visitors, voted for their favorites. the Packard came in number 4 of the Top 25. It was the only untouched or restored car there.

We have a 1949 Deluxe and we love the old girl. My other favorite would be a 1929 four door, 5 passenger, the bigger 7 passenger would not fit in our garage...Hope to see lots of opinions here. Thanks for the idea, Ernie

As you might guess from my e-mail address packard5687@mac.com,
my favorite Packard is the '56 Four Hundred hardtop, closely followed by the '56 Caribbean hardtop.

Otherwise, my favorite Packards are the '47 Clipper Custom Super Eights (because I also am a " '47 model"!) and the '34 Twelves.

Thanks for biting Howard and getting the ball rolling. I love the 54 you did, nice color choice.

Here is a 47 Clipper Custom.

Although I just love the highway capability and ease of driving of my '56 Caribbean, my real love is the 1934 Packards. A delight to the eyes and very easy driving, lots of special features, variable boost power brakes, ride control (adjustable from the dash shock absorbers), triple beam headlamps, full flow engine lubrication with crankcase oil heat exchanger, automatic chassis oiler, synchromesh transmission. Last year for the old classic profile with a fully vertical radiator and grille (shutters). Choice of 3 power plants, 6 wheelbases, 38 different combinations with body style.

Nice choice Owen, I find the 20's and 30's cars very beautiful yet strong looking.

I know the 1934 models are regarded as the pinnacle of prewar Packards, but I like the rounder look of the 35-37 seniors. But if a 32-34 (convertible) coupe comes available I might be in the market
