1950 grille removal

On the '50 Deluxe 8, there are three rows of horizontal chrome grill pieces above the main bumper. (Sorry, my terminology for these is non-existent; I'm sure there are proper names for each of these pieces). The top one, just below the hood, actually has a section (with separate joints on each end) that is about 12" long and runs from the headlight to the main front grille. I assume it is possible to remove just this secction - does anyone know how? Thanks in advance.
