Looks easy to read to me. You might have to adjust the colors on your monitor. It also may be the web browser you're using. I find Firefox to be one of the best, and Camino for Macs to be the best for viewing pages.

At the upper left corner of each reply block there is the posters screen name. It is VERY DIFFICULT to read the name because it is blue on blue.

Also when making the modification BE CERTAIN the Fuel line does NOT touch the engine at ANY point EXCEPT for where it screws into fittings at the end. There should be a minimum of 1/32 inch clearence between the line and any other part of the engine.

Placing filter at the pump creates the possibility of collected dirt flowing back down into the pump and crudding it up. Of course that can happen where i have it mounted too but to a much lesser degree because the filter is mounted horizontal.

ALSO, mounting near the pump would require more effort in terms of plumbing. The filter flow is DIRECTIONAL. Mounting it my way ONLY requires removing the flare fitting that screws into the nipple in the filter body then install the Ford filter and bend the line ever so slightly.
Mounting at the Catrer filter requires NO mofifications to any of the original parts other than deleteing the one fitting as mentioned above and a very slight bend to the fuel line.

That is just what I'm looking for at the inlet side of my fuel pump. I have a plastic one there now but this would be better looking. Great idea! if it works.

As an alternative, I wonder if that filter could be installed at the inlet end of the fuel pump for a more discreet appearance.

88 F Ranger 2.0 4 cyl gas filter, about $3.29. Air cleaner intake snout must be positioned SLIGHTLY to the right. Very MINOR bending of fuel line required. Rock removed from bowl. All comments and critisizms (originality issue notwithstanding, i already know it's not original) are welcome.

I took care of some house cleaning on the Photos this morning and moved all the Unidentified Photos that have been indentifed to their appropriate year folder. Thanks to all for their help on this, and BH for the poke in the ribs telling me to get to work!

Thanks Brian!
I got the hoses on! She is all filled with 50% antifreeze. I drove her a mile or so on three different times letting it cool between stops and checked and refiled radiator. I thought that I would be ready for a parade this morning (Sat.) Priscilla had other plans.
This morning, strange sounds were coming from the garage. Loud intermittent buzzing from under the hood. I disconnected the battery.
My best guess at this time, is that when "Burping" the radiator, some antifreeze sprayed back and into one or more of the relays.
I readily admit that this is just a guess. I also admit that every joint in my body is aching and I have a bad sinus headache, so I don't trust my foggy thinking.
This weekend, all of the local Packard people are on a weekend trip so I have no body to check this out.
My best friend knows nothing about Packards and has all ready spent seven to eight hours with me getting the hoses on.
Forgive me if I say I feel defeated!

Here are the dimensions from my personal notes for the radiator outlet hose (with trans cooler):

Upper - cut from straight stock, 1-3/4 I.D. x 3" long

Lower - cut from straight stock, 1-3/4 I.D. x 5-1/2" long

The "radiator outlet" hose is what most people call the lower hose. Though it is hard to come by in some places, I prefer to use plain hose, not the wrapped/reinforced stuff.
