Thank you for the information. It is definitly an interesting topic to consider. I've seen many inline 6 cylinders with split intakes and thought they looked awesome. That's why the question of whether they were available or not. I do appreciate the tech info though.

Sadly GearRat, there were no tail lights with this car but I'm waiting on a call form the guy I got it from to see if he was able to get in touch with the original owner. Supposedly he was starting a resto when he passed away. Long story short, there is a stash of parts for this 200 somewhere, just need to find them. I WILL have the 400 in Salado as well as the Roundup. Hope we get a chance to meet.

327 L8 dual intake manifold ?

Being new to this forum and still learning to navigate it, this topic may have been addressed in the past. Is there, has there ever been a dual/ split intake manifold for the L8 ? I have seen where there are 4 barrel intakes but I was curious about running two dueces or two single barrel carbs. More for looks but I imsgine that there would be a performance benefit as well.

My "New" Packard 400 ID info
Home away from home

New guy here, I recently bought a 51 Patrician 400 from a gentleman in Wichita Falls, Texas and trailered back to Granbury, Texas. I was tickled silly all the way home with our "new" car. With that being said, I've written down the following numbers: Body firewall A70240, Firewall body number tag 2452 6927, door jam ID plate 2452 6927 Paint Q Trim 601 (or 501 because first didgit is fuzzy), engine head front 32653, head number front to back 448019 288 and last but not least (scratching my head) B606032. With all the research I've done, this last number is telling me it's a 1938 block with a 288 head. Is this possible ? Any and all help is appreciated and encouraged. Many thanks in advance for all replies.

This engine serial number thing was driving me crazy....so I went out with a flashlight and scraped/sanded/ scrubbed and wiped that number........low and behold, it's J606032 which tells me that it's a 327 9 main with a 288 head ! So....I read where a 288 head on a 327 increased HP/ performance ? Anybody have info regarding this combination ?

Regards,
HotRod

Hey GearRat, New Guy to the forum here, I'm working hard to get to the "show" myself with my "new" 51PackPatty400. Just got it this past Tuesday in Wichita Falls, Texas and hauled it back to Granbury, Texas. My main thing to do is get the sway bar bushings changed out (if anybody can give me some info to aquie these, I'd appreciate it). Also need to swap all the glass out with a 51 200, with the exception of the rear back glass, I picked up that night. Once I'm finished, I'll have a 51 200 parts car if anyone is interested. I plan to attend the Packard meet in Salado at the end of the month too. Let me know if you need any parts, I'll see if I have them and can bring them to Austin for you.
