All 1940 Darrin victorias (120/180)are on the 127" wheelbase, and use the same frame, suspension parts are different. The front fenders, grill shell, five hood pieces, and the three cast aluminum pieces are the same. The center grill, hood side louvers, bumpers&guards are different for each series. The 180 uses the dash and interior hardware from this series, and the 120 uses the 120 dash and hardware. The 160/1803 and the 180/1806 chassis are the same. Packard decided to market the Darrin as a 180 as a top of the line custom because they could..........

These are called Dual Trunk Lid Guards (part #356854 Cost$7.95). Consist of two vertical guards with two ,cross bars, which you fold down when opening the trunk lid. This was an accessory sold for extra protection of the trunk area.

The A/C compressor assy.used with the std. body has a different part# for each yr. 1940 #356013, 1941 #362458, 1942 #360440,no indication what the difference is. The Clipper models use two different compressors 1941 #373175 & 1942 #378987

With that much play (1941 120) the first thing I would check are the rubber bushings at the end of the pitman arm.....
