Can anyone provide me with a photo of the box located inside the frame of a 1928 car where the big wires from the battery come into the engine compartment?

Still going to run at 6 volts but do not trust the old stock circuit breaker. Want to get an auto reset breaker but do not know what amperage to get for my 6 cyl with stock lights and bulbs. Any help?

I am in the process of replacing all of my 1928 526 Bijur lubrication components. I have cleaned or purchased new metering cartridges. I have replaced all of the lines with new copper and had the tank rebuilt. One issue was the soldered Tee fittings. I could not get them soldered right so I replaced those joints with brass compression fittings. Just waiting on 5 more half barrel compression sleeves from Bruce Blevins to complete the restoration.

SAE160 is very stiff. I cannot find it at most shops. I use sae90 in my rear end. Would it be too thin for the transmission?

Thanks. Is there a list of all lubes for the 1928? Sort of a chart or something?

Modern lubrication suggestions

I thought I saw somewhere a list of recommended modern lubrication types for the senior cars. I have not found it. I need to know what type of oil to put in the 1928 transmission. Packard says a medium gear oil. What would that be today?

Shock strap clamps needed

Can't find functioning Stabilator shocks for my 1928 526 and the car came with Lovejoy lever arm shocks and I intend to use them. I will have to reverse the rear axle spring brackets to locate the strap arm closer to where the levers will be placed. One thing I need are 2 sets of the strap clamp assys for the rear and 2 strap wedges to secure the axle side of the shock straps. Anyone out there have extra wedges or strap clamps?

1928 Oil filler

When I got my 1928 6 cyl engine, the oil filler was the one shown in the photos. It is not the correct one for a 1928 engine. Anyone know what engine it goes on? I would be willing to trade this nice cast aluminum one for a correct steel one for my 1928. Anyone with an extra?

Steering connecting rod ball joint adjustment 1928
#49

I have cleaned, polished and painted the steering connecting rod and the tension adjustment components. I have a couple of questions regarding re-assembly.
The maintenance manual just says adjust tension on the balls. After screwing in the plug to snug how much more do I tighten to ensure sufficient tension between the ball and sockets?
Please confirm the placement of the leather dust boot is to the nut side of the ball with a washer between the boot and levers as shown in the attached photo.
Should the ball be attached to the levers before placing the connecting rod in place or does it not matter?

Had Red Head rebuild my steering gearbox and when looking for the correct lubrication for it my owners manual says use Whitmore #52 worm gear compound. What is it and where can I get some. If not available, what current substitute should I use?
