How do you guys recommend attaching the engine hoist to the engine?

Progress was made this weekend! For now I just have the passenger fender off and the grille so I can lift the engine out. And it is hard to see in the pictures, but I did label the wires with some tape so I would know which ones were which. Thanks for all the help everyone! (P.S. please excuse the messy garage, there is not much room to work )

Thanks for the help. Ok, here is a warning. I do not know anything about electrical/wiring for cars, so please excuse any stupid questions. How can I disconnect the headlight and fog light wiring without cutting the wire? One wire goes to a bracket and screws on, but another goes into a rectangular rubber thing with another wire, so how can I get these disconnected? , and sorry again for the stupid questions

Ok thank you. I am wondering where those fender to grille bolts are? I removed the bolts along the bottom of the grill, but can't find the ones connecting it to the fenders.

Thanks.

Ok, so I am taking the front clip off of my 54. I removed the plate the hood latches to, the 2 bolts on top of the fenders by the windshield, the fender to rad support bolts, I am going to remove the bottom fenders bolts. Do I need to remove the panels that the air vents are connected to or can those stay on? And then should I be able (with a couple of friends of course) to lift up the whole front clip?

Howard, I have not. Do you have his contact information?

Thank you Don.

Steve, that sounds like a good idea. I'll try to contact the yard and see what they can do.

Thanks for the help. If shipping the 54 is too expensive, I found a place in Arizona that has a couple 54 2 doors. They sell parts but not whole cars, so maybe they could chop off the fenders and send them? It looks like they cut off the whole rear trunk section on one.

Yeah it would be a shame to cut up such a nice car. I didn't notice that the rear fenders are shaped differently. Hm, I will have to think about this one. It is a lot closer and cheaper, but I will have to spend a lot more time on those fenders to get them to work than on the car Steve found.

Thanks guys. I found a 51 Packard closer to me, but it is a 4 door. I don't know if that will still work? It looks to be fairly rust free and in very good condition. He only wants $1500. I will try to post some pictures.
