Thank you for the research. Wonder if any other years will work? Would make my search much easier.

1940 1808 front bumper bracket

Mentioned this on another blog the other day, but will try a new thread. I need for my 1940 1808 a passenger side front bumper bracket. Looks like a Y. The one I have is in good shape, but at some point someone decided to weld on it. So would like to find one in great shape. It may be the same for other models or years, don't know. Hope all of you can answer.
Thanks

Looked at the 41 from Volo, if they negotiate the price, and you can talk with someone that knows the about the vehicle, might be a possibility. Under dash stereo out, replace with an ipod.
Just thought of something for my 40, want to replace the front passenger side bumper bracket. Mine at some point was welded on in a small area, so wanted to find one that is in better shape. Anyone have a front bracket? Do other years fit? Thanks

West, thanks, who is reproducing the ash tray pullers? Would like to compare to the ones I made. Fortunately for me during restoration, am close friends with Fred Mauck, who still has a very original 1808, I would go and visit him every couple weeks, take pictures and measurements over the period of a year or so. Every time he had the car jacked up, I was under there with him. And of course Cal Soest would correct both of us at times.

Correct not an exact indicator. Now back to the current 1940. As you say next step correct engine number. Well under 30k and a mechanically inclined owner has possibilities. You seem to have many pictures, have you driven the car? How does the dash and gauges look? I see the Bakelite ash receiver pulls need to be remade. Fabricated and colored mine myself. And the amber plastic on the cigarette lighter need replacing. Again had to color and fabricate myself. Just pointing out some of, what might many, items to be done to this car. Buyer please be informed and very motivated, and you just may have lots of fun over the coming years.

You need to search 1940 Packard images on the internet. Is it a 160 or 180? It has 180 side mount covers, but may be incorrect. Someone really needs to view the car in person. There should be an id plate under the hood giving model information.

Ask the seller. You need, or have someone who knows 40 Packards, talk to the seller
