I would also like to thank the people who answer and explain the theory and the procedures. HH, Ross Miller, O_D, Jack Vines and many others. Has been a great refresher course and a lot of new insights to the practice of turning wrenches on our vehicles.

This website is a refuge of civility in what has rapidly become a very shitty world.

51,
I would recommend you install DuckDuckGo on your browser. It will hide your internet activity, searches etc from the internet tracking companies (I have blocked over 185,000 tracking attempts in the last four-five months). DuckDuckGo also offers a free email and info masking service as part of the Don't Track Me. This way the replies go to a especially created email address that shows up in your email account without revealing your email address, etc.
Hope this helps.

Nice score Richie. You have a fine looking car there, worth the wait.

I got 366,000 miles out of my S-10. I intend to do the same thing with my Canyon. Both trucks completely manual including windows, excepting p/s and now a/c. Scary that any manufacturer would put any software produced by Microscheist in a moving vehicle. Worse is that your vehicle is under potential take over by sinister government agencies.

Looks like I will ever buy a new vehicle again due to the intrusive screens and software. Plenty of reasonably priced K-5s around.

I would strongly recommend picking up some Stabil Marine Formula Ethanol fuel treatment. Bought it last winter when I purchased my new snow blower. Added to 5 gal gas can and used it as fuel conditioner and ethanol neutralizer. Topped off gas tank in spring and it fired first pull this winter.

Have also been using it in my Canyon every three thousand miles. Cleans all components on intake side of engine including valves from ethanol side effects. Always picks up some of the mileage I've lost since loosing my last place to get regular unleaded.

Ouch. We had a Spitfire touch a wooden blade while taxing out at the Geneseo air show a few years ago. Not pretty looking at the splintered molded wood blade. The Merlin had to be pulled down for inspection. Luckily the crank was undamaged. It was ball park in price to your engine.

Joe,
I would recommend that you have both of your rear springs serviced at the same time so you will have equal springing/support on both sides of the rear of the car. If you have had a weak spring the other spring has had to support more weight etc.

Servicing the one weak spring will only start the same problem again from opposite side. Hope this makes sense, not sure if I am explaining properly.

Congratulations Kevin. Very deserving recognition of the work you to bring your car back to its present condition.
