From a safety standpoint, I would recommend a push button switch like a starter button. In case of an accident or fire, the fuel supply would then be in-active if the engine was stopped.

Radiator and waterjacket rust removal.

I have been having some slow but excellent rust removal results by soaking in molasses and water. Does anyone have any reservations with using such a solution in the radiator and cooling system to remove rust deposits in the water jacket? Not while engine is running but in a stationary status?

Joe, thought you may have used a rim puller but that Dog Bone puller is as good as it gets.
I pulled mine last winter when it was about 25*F. I heated the hub and left it after I put pressure on the hot hub with the Dog Bone. Came back next day and it had popped.

What kind of puller did you use?

Already got the Kroil working several days ago. I think the blockage made be on the linkage and not just the shutter pivots.
That Kroil will climb a beanstalk if you give it time but I want to get to the linkage.

Thanks for the tips.

Can I get the radiator shell off and gain access to the shutter linkage without removing the at this time hood?

I'm running a one-man show here and that hood looks heavy to a 75 year old that needs to watch his back.

I cannot run the car with the shutters closed.

Is there a way of opening the shutters by hand?

Thanks Mal, that was a big help. I can see what is in there and there is more to it than I expected. If I could get the shutters stuck in the open position, I could remove the hood and radiator shell later, if that is what it takes.
