My comment on the speed was not meant as a complaint . All of us who use this site are spoiled by the great work that BigKev does faults are so rare they are not expected near perfection the norm and when not here I think we are all worried we may have to suffer from shortage of Packard info . Thanks again to BigKev and we all appreciated his time and work he puts into making the best site on Packards and cars in general

was wondering if maybe you have a nick or burr on the tubing end where its double flared or the seat of the mating fitting does not take much to allow a leak when pressure applied look closely as old eyes like we have can miss things we could see before the down side of getting older

The good thing about sleeving is that you have a lot of the work of blueprinting the engine done and you will also have uniform thickness on the cylinder bores which will be be a plus on a motor that will be running boost. Just trying to be positive. The benefits may also include better metallurgy in the sleeves. If any one can get it to work ity will be you.

We have a Studebaker and Avanti which have had the exhaust manifolds jet Hot coated the cost was around $200 in 2003 per set they still look as the day installed. The cars are not daily drivers but cars that are used for cruises and summer cars shows. The coating is applied to inside and outside. They list quite a few colors. We are very satisfied with the look and the way they have held up having been on numerous trips of several hundred miles at highway speeds

The great thing about this country is that we all have the right to say what we believe and we also have the right to ignore things that people say we don't agree with. That being said that being said if I disagree with something some one says I just ignore it they have the right to say it and I have the right to ignore it. Why get all bent out of shape over what some one posts its a free country.Free for them to post free for you to ignore if you disagree.I may not agree with what you say but I agree with your right to say it or print it. Thats what freedom is both sides have rights.

To make everyone happy lets not forget the F head as used by early Hudson and Willys (used till 1960) which will make both sides of the subject happy I believe also used in England by RR and Rover.

The filter my father had I first remember it being on a 53 Studebaker V8 then on the 56 Studebaker it was a bypass set up but used heavy industrial type rubber pressure fitting and hoses connection it was about 12 inches long and about 4 inches in diameter. The memory of the 53 is a little cloudy as I was only 10 years old in 53 only allowed very little hands on car work but was in training.
